Selling in Poland from abroad: Allegro, Amazon.pl and the rest

You sell from Denmark, Germany, Lithuania or the UK, and Poland is next on the list. Here is what that takes: the account, the tax route, listings in Polish, and the part we take off your desk.

Allegro is where the sellers who come to us usually start; next to it we run Amazon.pl, Empik, Erli and Temu for clients. We cover the whole market on our selling in Poland page, and Allegro has its own page.

Scope of work

  • Channels picked for your range, and the ones to skip
  • The seller account opened and verified from abroad, with the documents each platform wants
  • Listings written in Polish for how people search here, not translated word for word
  • Allegro Ads run to your margin, not to a spend target

Poland at a glance

Scale
Allegro reports 20.4 million active buyers. Its investor page does not say which quarter the figure covers, so we do not either.
Three more markets, one account
Allegro also runs allegro.cz, allegro.sk and allegro.hu: you share offers from the account you have, Allegro translates them, and you add local delivery and keep to local rules.

Do you need a Polish company?

For the tax route, not necessarily. The One Stop Shop (OSS) lets you register in a single member state and settle VAT on intra-Community distance sales to the rest of the EU from there; the OSS return does not replace your national VAT return. Below EUR 10,000 a year you can still charge your home rate, but only if your business sits in one member state - for a company based outside the EU there is no such threshold. Stock kept in a warehouse here is a question for a tax adviser, and a partner handles the registrations before goods move.

What changes outside the EEA

On Allegro, quite a lot. Its help centre for sellers outside the European Economic Area lists:

  • one account per set of company details
  • a limit of 500 offers
  • a payout account verified - a bank account, or Payoneer, WorldFirst, LianLian Global or PingPong
  • registration documents no older than four months
  • photos of the representatives’ identity documents
  • return, complaint and delivery terms published before the first listing

Under the EU product safety rules, a consumer product can only be placed on the market if an economic operator established in the Union is responsible for it - including as the contact point for market surveillance authorities.

Amazon.pl and Temu

Amazon lists a Professional plan at PLN 165.91 net a month plus selling fees and an Individual plan at PLN 4 net per item sold. Registering needs an active credit card, a passport or ID, company data with a VAT number and a bank account for payouts. Temu’s EU Seller Center asks which country you sell from, then for company data, an address, the beneficial owner and an identity document; Temu states that it charges no registration fees.

Polish is not optional

A word-for-word translation reads like one, and buyers scroll past it. Titles, parameters and delivery terms are written for how people search here, and whoever writes in Polish gets an answer in Polish - from a partner working inside the account.

Order of work

From the decision to the first order

We start with what takes longest and can stop a launch.

  1. The margin first, the platform second

We work out what is left after commission, delivery, returns and advertising. If it does not work at your prices, you hear that first.

  2. The tax route settled with a partner

OSS or a local registration, and whether your model puts goods into a warehouse here. A partner registers and files before any goods move.

  3. Account and verification

Company documents, bank verification and identity documents in the form each platform accepts. Outside the EEA there is more to gather, so we have it ready in advance.

  4. Listings, delivery and terms in Polish

Titles and parameters for Polish search habits, shipping price lists for how people buy here, returns terms ready before the first offer.

  5. Advertising and the daily rhythm

Allegro Ads once the offers are worth promoting, then price recommendations, metrics and a report you can read without stitching spreadsheets.

How we work

What we take on for a seller based abroad

We are six people in Zielona Góra, and that is deliberate: you know who runs your account.

01

The account, end to end

We prepare the application and documents, get the account through verification, then run it day to day. The account stays yours; we work on access you grant and can withdraw at any time.

02

Listings and campaigns tuned to margin

Content written for this market, and Allegro Ads reported against your result rather than your spend. We are an Allegro Ads partner and an Amazon Gold Partner in the Amazon Europe Agency Program.

03

Everything that is not sales

Logistics, returns, Polish-language customer service, VAT and OSS, and EPR all go to partners we choose and keep an eye on, with stock and orders tied together by Base, Apilo or Sellero.

FAQ

Questions we get from sellers abroad

Didn’t find an answer? Let’s talk See all questions
Do I need a company registered in Poland?

Not for the tax route - you register for OSS in one member state. Stock in a Polish warehouse is a separate case for your tax adviser.

My company is in the UK, outside the EEA. What is different?

Mostly the paperwork: one account per set of company details, a limit of 500 offers and a longer verification set, all listed above. A consumer product also needs an economic operator established in the Union behind it.

Who answers buyers writing in Polish?

A partner handles messages, returns and complaints in Polish, working in the account itself, so a delivery problem shows up in the sales work, not only in the inbox.

What does working with you cost?

We quote after looking at your range and the accounts - running one channel and opening several markets are different work. No price list here, and the first conversation costs nothing.
